Fly Fishing Tips and Techniques
Fishing Upstream or Downstream
Fishing upstream can be more productive and you can always fish back downstream through the same area later. Depending on the surroundings a rule of thumb is as follows: -

Fish upstream when:
- There is an upstream wind
- The weather is bright
- The water is clear and low
- The current is not very fast

Fish Downstream when:
- There is a downstream wind
- There is a dull day with a breeze
- If the water is clearing after a spate
- If there is a swift current
